OUR STAFF AND LEADERS
We're a vibrant multi-generational church with a young staff team. We operate through an eldership model, with elders who guard our vision and mission, as well as deacons who faithfully serve the congregation. We're also an equipping church with a heart to raise up more leaders. Calvary is a place where you can faithfully use your gifts to serve the church, and be raised up and challenged in your own leadership.
My gospel dream: To catalyze a network of reproducing and multiplying churches all across California's central valley.
Andrew Phillips joined the Calvary family in the summer of 2020 as the lead pastor, after serving as a pastor in New York City and prior, as a missionary and ministry leader in the United Kingdom. Andrew is passionate about discipleship, and seeing a generation of people live out their faith and share the love of Jesus with others. He holds a bachelor of arts in theology from Baylor University, and is currently working on a PhD in theology from Durham University. Andrew and his wife, Mariava, live in Stockton and have a son called Joshua (2) and a baby girl on the way. In his free time, Andrew enjoys watching films, reading and roasting his own coffee at home!
My gospel dream: To equip and send missionaries to Asia. To multiply a network of churches across Japan.
Brett Nakashima joined the Calvary staff as our youth and young adult minister in the summer of 2020. Brett oversees our young adult and youth ministries, where he helps train and equip young adults in their faith. He holds a bachelor of arts from BIOLA University. In addition to a passion for reaching young adult, Brett also has a background in creative arts, and is a social media and marketing master!
