LEADERSHIP TEAM

OUR STAFF AND LEADERS

We operate through elders who oversee and shepherd the church (1 Pet. 5:1-4), deacons and deaconesses who faithfully serve the practical needs of the church (Acts 6:1-7), staff and a board of directors who serve and support the oversight and leadership of the pastoral council.

Elders/overseers/pastors

The New Testament defines the local church office of elder and overseer as men who aspire to the ministry of shepherding the church and have been appointed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28), recognized by the local church, and qualified to serve according to the qualifications outlined in (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Ti. 1:5-9) by exemplifying godly character and an ability to teach the Bible. Elders are under-shepherds of the chief shepherd of the church, Jesus Christ, and are commanded to willingly and joyfully oversee their local church as one who will one day give an account to God. (1 Pet. 5:1-4, Heb. 13:17)

Pastor Rodney Perkins
Lead Elder

Rodney Perkins is the pastor at Calvary Church.

He is a proud Virginia native, born and raised in that beautiful state. For the past 30 years, he has been blessed to be married to his beloved wife, Christa. Together, they have enjoyed raising their three incredible children who bring them endless joy and laughter.

His journey with the Lord began at a young age when he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart at the age of 11. It was a defining moment that set him on a path of faith and service. At 19, he felt a deep calling to ministry, and since then, he has dedicated his life to serving God and His people.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Norfolk State University in History, a subject that has always fascinated him and provided valuable insights into the world we live in. Additionally, he pursued a master's degree in Pastoral Leadership At Dallas Theological Seminary , equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve in leadership roles within the church.

He is passionate about creating a place where everyone feels like family and encounters the life-changing love of Jesus. His heart is to see people in Stockton find real hope, grow in faith, and live out their purpose together.

Kory is married to Cori and have one child. Kory's heart is to see people's lives changed through the Word.

The New Testament defines and exemplifies the local church office of deacons/deaconesses as men and women who have been recognized by the church and qualified to serve the practical needs of the local church (1 Tim. 3:8-13). The first deacons were appointed so that the Apostles could devote their time to prayer and the ministry of the word of God (Acts 6:1-7).
