We're a welcoming, casual and diverse church in the heart of Stockton's beautiful Country Club neighborhood. Calvary is a community where you'll be welcomed, whether you're new to faith or a life-long follower of Jesus. We want your first experience at Calvary to be relaxed and for you and your family to enjoy the service! Read below to find out more about what you can expect.
What does "Calvary Mean?
Calvary is the name for the place where Jesus was crucified. We are named after this place as a reminder that God loved you so much that he sent his son Jesus to die for you. Wondering what all that means? Check out this page to here from our Lead Pastor about what it means to follow Jesus.
When are your services?
Every Sunday at 10 am at our chapel in Stockton, CA (2343 Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA 95204). We also stream all of our services online on Facebook and our website. The service lasts about 75 minutes. If you're joining us online, we encourage you to connect to the service 5-10 minutes early to make sure you have everything set up correctly.
What are the services like?
Our goal every Sunday is to teach the Bible in a way that's relevant to your life, so that you can learn from it and become the best version of yourself. The messages are practical, engaging, easy to follow, and based on the Bible.
Every Sunday we provide message notes for you to follow along. You can pick these up in your program if you're joining in person. If you're joining online, we post a link to download the message notes as a PDF file in the chat window.
What SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MUSIC?
We sing a mix of modern and traditional worship songs (everything from a classic hymn with a modern twist, to some of the most contemporary worship songs today). All of our worship is upbeat, uplifting and inspiring!
We encourage you to sing along with us, especially if you're joining online so you can worship instead of just watching.
Anything else I need to know?
Above pretty much sums us up. Just come as you are in whatever you're wearing. We always say that faith is about a living relationship with Jesus, not just empty religion. We love Jesus and love practicing our faith, and love having fun and laughing while we do it! If you do have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
